The Power of His Love is Changing Me

You would hardly recognize me regarding my views on polity, pass-time activities, hobbies, aliens, and social needs.  My attitudes regarding these things are changing.  I guess after singing this chorus so many times at church, the Lord took me up on it and through Pastor Inthava I was introduced to the Burmese.   Meeting fellow Christians and searching souls, from another culture, right here in my church building, has been life changing.

When Kay and I got involved with Van Boi Thang and Tin Hnem last November we had no idea the journey we would walk with them.   Baby Moses was born prematurely (24 weeks) in December and lived for five weeks in the neonatal ward of Baptist hospital.  We had to teach the couple new things, laugh with them and cry with them, but together we have found God’s love and faithfulness to be true.   We have found higher priorities for our spare time, new perspectives about the aliens among us, and a compassion that transcends political ideology.    Thank you Lord for the opportunity to minister with the Burmese refugees!

About johnmcmurphy

Jesus is first and foremost in my life. He is above all religions, principalities and powers. In everything He must increase and I must decrease. Into the hands of Jesus, God has placed life and death, truth and purity. strength and meaning. Only in a growing understanding of the triune God, and his son Jesus can I do, breathe, exist and serve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Vennard College, a Master's in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph. D. from Ohio State in Family Relations and Human Development. I am an ordained pastor involved in cross-cultural ministry. I am currently employed at several colleges as an instructor. If you need to get in touch with me, just leave a comment, I screen all comments and so you can leave further contact information which I will erase before it is published. -John
