Green Thumb/Life Fingers

The other day I was talking to Frosintina and Peng Len about the beautiful flowers they were growing and  how their garden had flourished.  I told her about the American idiom “green thumb”.  I was amazed at her response that in their Chin language they have a similar expression meaning “life fingers” when translated.

Here are pictures of Frosintina and her mother doing some gardening and below is a picture of Peng Len with his wife Nu Nu and their youngest daughter Deborah.   Peng Len said that while he was a refugee in Malaysia he worked at a company that cultivated and sold tomato and other plants to European gardeners.

Jesus is first and foremost in my life. He is above all religions, principalities and powers. In everything He must increase and I must decrease. Into the hands of Jesus, God has placed life and death, truth and purity. strength and meaning. Only in a growing understanding of the triune God, and his son Jesus can I do, breathe, exist and serve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Vennard College, a Master's in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph. D. from Ohio State in Family Relations and Human Development. I am an ordained pastor involved in cross-cultural ministry. I am currently employed at several colleges as an instructor.
