Last night on the way home from work, a Burmese friend asked me to stop by to talk with him. Since I was coming through Lexington (known statewide for its barbeque) I decided to bring along barbeque take-out for the occasion.
I had so much fun sitting down on the floor (Burmese style) and introducing eight people to Lexington style North Carolina barbeque. We had buns, hushpuppies, ketchup and barbeque sauce. I don’t know if they were just being polite but they all said they were enjoying it. Breaking bread together leads to a greater bond with your friends. I have had several such opportunities and they are priceless.
