It’s that time of year when we focus on a major holiday and begin preparations. We decorate, we plan, we organize and we prepare. All of this in anticipation of celebration of Christmas. Among the Burmese, plans are being made for a community Christmas party in a neighboring church building. Our ESL group is planning on singing Christmas Carols to some of the FWC adult Sunday School classes next Sunday, and the Thang Tlang family is anxiously awaiting the birth of a baby girl (December 15???). Yesterday I got this e-mail from Thang Tlang’s brother
Dear Jonh mt Murphy

See you again
As you read the Christmas story you can see there was also an anticipation, throughout the Scriptures, of Christ’s coming. Plans were made before the foundations of the earth, God orchestrated events and circumstances from the beginning of time, everyone awaited the birth of the Messiah. At exactly the right time and with the right situation God’s Son, Jesus, was born to virgin Mary in Bethlehem.
Here is a picture of the Thang Tlang family, Thang Tlang, Hlamay, Esther and Nece as they await a birth this season. The backdrop is a manger scene mural in one of the Sunday school rooms.
