The Zone

Have you found the zone of God’s anointing in ministry service.   There is nothing like it!  It is when you say, ” I was born to do what I’m doing now”.  Don Cousins writes about this phenomena in Experiencing Leadershift.    He says God’s anointing puts the believer in a place of faithful, fruitful and fulfilling ministry.

Cousins assigns believers three tasks that will help you find the zone:   1.)  Discover and list what you believe to be your primary spiritual gifts.   2.)  Write a paragraph about what you’re most passionate about in ministry.   3.)  Listen to God with a forgiven heart.   Let Him bring back to memory moments in ministry service that you experienced with God such that you said, “When I did that, God showed up.”

Put the results of these observations together.  Do this with a Christian friend.  Celebrate and confirm how God has worked in your life.  Then make adjustments to your current ministry focus, every believer needs to find how God wants to use their life in ministry.   Soon you’ll find that you will be in the zone.

Jesus is first and foremost in my life. He is above all religions, principalities and powers. In everything He must increase and I must decrease. Into the hands of Jesus, God has placed life and death, truth and purity. strength and meaning. Only in a growing understanding of the triune God, and his son Jesus can I do, breathe, exist and serve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Vennard College, a Master's in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph. D. from Ohio State in Family Relations and Human Development. I am an ordained pastor involved in cross-cultural ministry. I am currently employed at several colleges as an instructor. If you need to get in touch with me, just leave a comment, I screen all comments and so you can leave further contact information which I will erase before it is published. -John
