Kyaw Wai Sang Last Sunday

dsc01224a2Mr. Kyaw Wai [Jaw Way]  was among many solists and ensembles that sang in the Lao service last Sunday.    He is a new Karen arrival that lives near Rte. 311 & Bus. I-85.   I happened to be in the service when he sang.  Someone loaned him an electric guitar and after tuning it a bit he sang out a Burmese song.   Both the words and music was very different for me.  Kay says that SE Asians may have a tonal quality and scales that are different than ours.

Carol Winslow told me yesterday that Kyaw Wai actually was quite a singer in Thailand and had a CD produced with his music.  What a gift God has placed among us.

This is a 4/10/2011 update, this family has relocated to upstate New York, the Buffalo area to be closer to relatives.
