This week involved a lot of transitions. The Kyaw Wai family have moved out of our area. Eh Le Say is finding different housing for his family and Pa Kler’s family has qualified for a cheaper home. In recent weeks 3-5 different Burmese families/individuals have moved to our area (one couple is from the Kachin State of Burma). Watch the blog for introductions of these new folks. Additional Triad Burmese residents are interviewing with Purdue Farms in the Rockinghham area and World Relief is checking out some Guilford County transportation programs to get these folks to work.
The need to intervene by Americans remains high. I was reminded of this when one on my friends called me last Sunday afternoon to find out the time and learn about Daylight Savings Time changes in the spring and fall. Friends of the Burmese need do nothing more than answer simple questions, show basic American solutions to problems and direct the Burmese to opportunities to improve their lives.
