All Right That Did it, 5000 Hits on the Blog!!!

It’s a milestone on a a most excellent spiritual journey.   Since Kay and I began working with the Burmese God has turned so many things about my life on their head.  Listening to His promptings and being obedient is so exciting.   I hope you catch glimpses of what He is doing here in our lives through my posts.  In a couple of days I will post the story of how the Burmese came to First Wesleyan Church.

Speaking of stories, look at these thoughts from Leonard Sweet, ” If ritual is the ceremonial rehearsal of stories, show me your storyboard.   Tell me the story of your church:   What is your church’s creation story?….Tell me who are your story’s main characters….How whould your revise your church’s story.  No story is too late for revision. … What is your horizon story?   Who is telling the story of your church?   Who are your church’s storytellers?   Who are your church’s story-catchers? ” (Sweet, So Beautiful, p. 142ff).   -John

About johnmcmurphy

Jesus is first and foremost in my life. He is above all religions, principalities and powers. In everything He must increase and I must decrease. Into the hands of Jesus, God has placed life and death, truth and purity. strength and meaning. Only in a growing understanding of the triune God, and his son Jesus can I do, breathe, exist and serve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Vennard College, a Master's in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph. D. from Ohio State in Family Relations and Human Development. I am an ordained pastor involved in cross-cultural ministry. I am currently employed at several colleges as an instructor. If you need to get in touch with me, just leave a comment, I screen all comments and so you can leave further contact information which I will erase before it is published. -John
