Worship in Spirit and Truth
I’ve been reading about worship in a book written by Brian Doerksen. Brian has written music such as “To the River“, “As for Me and My House” and “Come, Now is the Time to Worship“. His songs have caught on, traveled around the globe, been translated into many languages.
This quote by him, caught my attention “When we flatter someone, we are just saying what we think he or she wants to hear so that we can get something back” (see Psalm 78:36-37). Doerksen denounces this as hollow “religious” worship and calls us to a worship saturated with a spirit of humility and honesty.
