Blackaby said “Find where God is moving and get Involved”

About eight years ago I first heard this teaching out of the Experiencing God study taught by Henry Blackaby.  As I have thought about this I realize at first I didn’t even care about seeing where God was at work.  Then, even though, His Mighty hand was moving among the Burmese I was blind I did not take notice of God’s work.   Finally, through the coaxing of my friend Pastor Inthava Inthisane, I began to get involved with Burmese arrivals about three years ago.  At that point I became “aware” of what was going on and experienced God in new way.

From this perspective where I am highly involved, I wonder how I could be so uncaring, or so blind, or how anyone cannot see what God is doing.    It is the work of the Holy Spirit to awaken a heart to serving our Lord.  I would pray for a mighty moving of God among High Point Christians to get involved in the lives of the aliens and foreigners among us.   We need to welcome them to this land of their exile.  We need to help them to get along in America, pioneering a new life for their family and friends.  We need to win a hearing for the gospel of Jesus, it has transforming power, for those arrivals who have never known the Lord as their Savior.

About johnmcmurphy

Jesus is first and foremost in my life. He is above all religions, principalities and powers. In everything He must increase and I must decrease. Into the hands of Jesus, God has placed life and death, truth and purity. strength and meaning. Only in a growing understanding of the triune God, and his son Jesus can I do, breathe, exist and serve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Vennard College, a Master's in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph. D. from Ohio State in Family Relations and Human Development. I am an ordained pastor involved in cross-cultural ministry. I am currently employed at several colleges as an instructor. If you need to get in touch with me, just leave a comment, I screen all comments and so you can leave further contact information which I will erase before it is published. -John
