Month Long Rice Drive at First Wesleyan Concludes
Last Sunday marked the end of the month long rice drive at First Wesleyan. The total rice collected is just over a ton (2093 lbs) in 158 different bags. The rice drive was co-sponsored by the First Wesleyan Missions Team and the new Community outreach leadership of the church.
The rice has been securely stowed in the freezer of the Grace Church food pantry by Peng Len, Char Lay Htoo and John McMurphy. Pastor I. I. will coordinate the distribution of the rice throughout this year to arriving refugees. Please see related links (link one, link two and link three) for more information about the purpose of First Rice.
