Karen/Burma Cease Fire Signed Thursday

My friend Tony Williams, Director of the High Point World Relief just sent this update.   An historic cease fire agreement has been signed between the Karen ethnic people and the Myanmar government on Thursday, January 12, 2012.   Please click here to read about this in the Washington Post.  Read more in the Sydney Morning Herald.    Additional link.   Burmese language video about the event is linked here.

In a related story the US will exchange ambassadors with Myanmar.   Click on this Voice of America link.

The government of Burma seems to be making changes.  Pray for peace throughout Burma.  Pray for the extended families of the Burmese who now live in the United States.    Don’t forget to pray for Christians among the other ethnic groups of Burma.  They may still face danger.

Into the hands of Jesus, God has placed life and death, truth and purity. strength and meaning. Only in a growing understanding of the triune God, and his son Jesus can I do, breathe, exist and serve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Vennard College, a Master's in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph. D. from Ohio State in Family Relations and Human Development. I am an ordained pastor involved in cross-cultural ministry. I am currently employed at several colleges as an instructor.
