Prayer and Fasting

In Sunday school today we studied how the Antioch church (Acts 13:1ff) had a time of fasting and prayer and then sent out Barnabas and Saul on a missionary journey.    My Karen Burmese students began talking about this and told me that every 3 months or so they have a time of fasting and all night prayer.  In fact last Friday the folks gathered in at Nyein’s home, shared prayer requests and then divided the night into 40 minute segments.  Folks lingered through the night and then people went to a designated area to spend their time in prayer.   Whew, was I humbled.   What was I doing on Friday night?  What meals had I sat aside during Friday to prepare myself for such a time of prayer?   Thank you for this lesson to me from my fellow Christians.
