What did you do during Spring Break?
I had a ball. I experienced fellowship with my friend Jesus. I ate Chinese food twice with some of my Burmese friends, Nyein, Steven and Peng Len. Ran a friend out to a day job offered by Ronnie Martin of FWC. Sold, packaged and shipped $100 worth of stuff on my Amazon site. Rebuilt my utility trailer with the help of my friend Steven Bawi. Then Soe Doh, a student from my college, helped me break in the trailer as we delivered two loads of compost to Cal Bin and Cha Day‘s homes. New arrival Aung Thein helped us. Peng Len and I were able to dispose of his damaged van at a local scrap yard. Ran into Roi Ji and Knaw Bawk and learned that Roi Ji is expecting their second child next month. Had a chance to look at newborn Benjamin for the first time. Planted peas and snow peas with a team of Chin workers then showed them a llama, the Randleman lake, and a local Azalea nursery. Received an unexpected monetary blessing so that I could buy rice. I delivered the First Rice to a Karenni family who could not speak a lick of English so I called a Karenni friend who translated. Heard that Roger launched home based ESL classes at Pa Klay‘s. Topped off the week with great news that Kam Bik and Steven were hired to work at a Lowes assembly factory making cabinets. It will be a quiet weekend helping Vena prepare for a tax audit. It was quite a week and a welcome break from the school schedule!
In reflecting on this week, I realize it was all about Jesus. He surrounded me with His love, guided me toward next steps, renewed my strength, kept me in a “safe zone”, taught me new things about Himself and His perspective. He led me like the captain of my salvation that He is. It is in Him and through Him and for Him I have any good thing. All praise be to Jesus!
