News from the Pews

Toe Toe arrived back in town about a month ago.  He is La Nay Paw’s brother.  Shortly after he arrived from Thailand, 3 years ago, he moved near Des Moines, Iowa and worked at pig slaughter house.   Then he did the same in Minnesota for a while and then back in Iowa.   He is now looking for work in our area and hopes to get papers in order to travel.

Lal Chhuan Thangi (the oldest son of Sante) graduated from Andrews High School in May and just got a job at Marsh cabinets.   We how have 6-7 Burmese working there:  Maung Ei, Bye Bye, Saw Leh Paw, Ko Saw, Ray Wah, and Lal Chhuan Thangi.

Nu Nu has returned from a trip to Maryland.  She had to go back up there for diagnosis and to begin treatment of a hyper thyroid.   Welcome home.

Roger Richardson recently preached in the Karen service.  Kelly Toth is scheduled to preach for the Karen soon.  Marcia Jobe will bring a message in that service later in August.  I will preach in the Chin/Burmese service next Sunday.

About johnmcmurphy

Jesus is first and foremost in my life. He is above all religions, principalities and powers. In everything He must increase and I must decrease. Into the hands of Jesus, God has placed life and death, truth and purity. strength and meaning. Only in a growing understanding of the triune God, and his son Jesus can I do, breathe, exist and serve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Vennard College, a Master's in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph. D. from Ohio State in Family Relations and Human Development. I am an ordained pastor involved in cross-cultural ministry. I am currently employed at several colleges as an instructor. If you need to get in touch with me, just leave a comment, I screen all comments and so you can leave further contact information which I will erase before it is published. -John
