Nan Lian Khup, Stiven & Misa Looking for Work

For the last 5 months I have been making weekly trips to Graham Personnel  in Greensboro to help some of my friends to2014-01-09 15.53.42 find work.  It has been encouraging to see more jobs open up in the Triad.  I think with the changing in government in Raleigh we have seen more job opportunities in the Triad for our refugee families.  In this picture the tall man is Nan Lian Khup, the other man is Stiven and the woman is a young mother named Misa.  We headed up to Cornwallis Drive in G’boro this afternoon and the folks filled out application forms for about 40 minutes, then they had an interview with Paula.  They are all hoping to find work in High Point.

Nan Lian Khup and Stiven were some of my first friends among the Burmese arrivals.  We met about a year before I started this blog.   It was good to spend some time with them today.

Jesus is first and foremost in my life. He is above all religions, principalities and powers. In everything He must increase and I must decrease. Into the hands of Jesus, God has placed life and death, truth and purity. strength and meaning. Only in a growing understanding of the triune God, and his son Jesus can I do, breathe, exist and serve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Vennard College, a Master's in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph. D. from Ohio State in Family Relations and Human Development. I am an ordained pastor involved in cross-cultural ministry. I am currently employed at several colleges as an instructor. If you need to get in touch with me, just leave a comment, I screen all comments and so you can leave further contact information which I will erase before it is published. -John
