God is doing a new thing.

I want to let those who are reading this to begin to enjoy the great news of what God is doing in High Point in the Burmese community.   Several people a week are accepting Christ as their person Savior, it is a time of harvest. Adoniram Judson worked for six years before he saw his first convert in Burma.   It seems like we have had a long season of sowing and serving and being faithful.  But now God is doing a new thing.  People are getting saved, young men are learning how to be soul-winners and God is being glorified.

This week Sitt Lin Heh, our Burmese pastor told me about a young man I know repenting, weeping and turning to Jesus.  This fellow tried to commit suicide 9 months after he got here, I had him on suicide watch.  Since then he has been in trouble with the law and been abusive to his wife.  But this week God saved him.

A young woman had been attending church for the last eight months wearing a string around her neck.  This signified her beliefs in animistic and folk religion notions.  This week she accepted Jesus.  She told Sitt Lin she has cut the string off and burned it and is now trusting in God instead of being so fearful.

Another woman had already been baptized but could not answer the question “Where is Jesus?”   Sitt Lin shared with her how the believer invites the Savior into their heart and Jesus lives inside of us.

So now days I am going to devote the blog to telling the stories of how Jesus is working.  I know these people who are getting saved, in times past I have posted their pictures.  God is doing a new thing.  Pray for the work of God in High Point.

About johnmcmurphy

Jesus is first and foremost in my life. He is above all religions, principalities and powers. In everything He must increase and I must decrease. Into the hands of Jesus, God has placed life and death, truth and purity. strength and meaning. Only in a growing understanding of the triune God, and his son Jesus can I do, breathe, exist and serve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Vennard College, a Master's in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph. D. from Ohio State in Family Relations and Human Development. I am an ordained pastor involved in cross-cultural ministry. I am currently employed at several colleges as an instructor. If you need to get in touch with me, just leave a comment, I screen all comments and so you can leave further contact information which I will erase before it is published. -John
